RIO DE JANEIRO, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Colombia international midfielder Jhon Arias is set to leave Brazil's Fluminense to join Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to media reports.

Wolverhampton has agreed in principle to pay 22 million euros for the 27-year-old, news outlet Lance reported, adding that only formalities remain before the move is confirmed.

Arias has made 229 appearances for Fluminense across all competitions, scoring 47 goals and providing 55 assists, since his 2021 move from Colombia's Independiente Santa Fe.

The playmaker reportedly drew interest from several European clubs during the recent FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where he helped Fluminense reach the semifinals.

Wolves currently have one Colombian in their first-team squad: central defender Yerson Mosquera. ■
