BRASILIA, July 16 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed early Wednesday in a traffic accident in Central Brazil's Goias state, said the Federal Highway Police (PRF).
The accident happened on a stretch of the BR-153 highway in Porangatu in the Goias state, the PRF said in a preliminary report.
A truck veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a bus, which was carrying 25 students from the Federal University of Para.
The bus driver, three students and the truck driver died at the scene, the report said.
The rescue operations continued into the morning, it added. ■
