PRAGUE, July 16 (Xinhua) -- The United States beat China 122-57 in the round of 16 at the 2025 FIBA U19 Women's World Cup on Wednesday, as the tournament continues in Brno, Czech Republic.
China took an early 2-0 lead after Xu Ziqi sank two free throws. However, the United States quickly surged ahead. Ran Kejia's jump shot briefly leveled the score at 7-7, and the USA built a 28-18 advantage by the end of the first quarter.
The United States was powered by Sienna Betts, who led all scorers with 21 points, adding 10 rebounds and two assists. For China, Ran Kejia stood out with a team-high 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
In earlier round of 16 matchups, Canada topped South Korea 70-58, while Portugal edged Israel 83-80.
China will advance to the 9-16 classification games on Friday. ■
